About

I'm Aaron, 23 24, from Australia. I quit my job, sold most of my stuff, got a working VISA, and in March 2012 moved over to America in which I hope to embark on a true adventure, lasting until I either get bored or run out of money.

So, why the trip?

In honesty it really is a bit of a case of 'why not'? I am the type of person that is always looking for something new, something exciting, a challenge at every turn. I get bored easily; with life, friends, hobbies. To counter this, I always need to keep myself moving forward.

In addition to the above, I guess my primary reason is due to one of my biggest fears: to reach 30 years old and not be able to look back at my last 10 years with fond memories of countless and irreplaceable experiences. Now, at a (arguably) young age of 24 years old at this moment I do have quite some time before the big 3-0 I know, but I figure it would good to set myself up now!

In other words, why wait!

So that answers the 'why' side of it, now the question of 'why America'?. I'm not really sure to be honest, the country is one of my least favourite out there; their entire system seems corrupt at every level, it is a country where basic health care seems to be more expensive than even owning a car, not to mention also that they consist of a population where one in three are obese... you get the point. Anyways, I guess the main factor that is pulling me there is New York City, as that has always been a true dream of mine to live in.

The time really is now, and after first thinking of this idea initially 2 years ago I am happy to hold true to my choice even after many months of deliberation. I'm young, single, I've finished all of my studies, and have nearly 4 years of work experience within my field already on my name. And to be honest besides family and some great friends, I don't really have anything what so ever holding me to my current home of Melbourne, Australia.

So join me on this completely unpredictable adventure :)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention! I'm won't be alone on this trip. My loyal friend Travel Buddy will be with me every step of the way. He never complains or argues, and pretty much goes along with everything I do, it's great!

Cheeky smiles before we embark!
